What is a Safety Plan?

A safety plan is a personalized set of steps you can take to reduce your risk of harm. It’s designed around your life—at home, at school, at work, and other places you go—so you can feel more prepared and safe.

How do I make a safety plan?

Take your time and go through each section of this tool. You’ll answer questions that help you identify safety options that fit your situation. When you finish, you’ll have a printable version of your personalized safety plan to keep with you.

Keep In Mind

  • For the plan to be effective, try to provide honest and accurate information.
  • We do not save or store this data. It only exists on your screen right now.
  • Keep your completed safety plan in a secure but accessible place.
  • Trust your instincts and take steps that feel safe for you.
