Make An Impact In Your Community
TCN continuously seeks outreach opportunities that reflect the strengths, needs, and changing visibilities of the community.
• Every fall, TCN employees give back to the community by providing backpacks and school supplies for children in the communities we serve. Our goal is to ensure that no child goes to school unprepared or without the necessary tools for a successful education.
• TCN accepts donations of coats of all sizes year round to ensure that no member of the public is ever without weather appropriate attire. The coats are available to anyone in need.
• The agency recognizes that many patients and families are financially dependent on secure employment, and that no patient be placed in financial jeopardy to meet treatment needs. Currently, TCN offers transportation to several youth programs to that parents don’t miss work and offers Saturday programming at the Fairborn location. Family Solutions Center also offers select Saturday hours.
• The Prevention Program of Youth Services is active in all local schools and provides education on bullying, recognizing abuse, and suicide prevention. Members of the Prevention team also provide parenting classes in conjunction with Children's Services.
• TCN has offered several trainings focused on populations of special needs, including trauma victims, the Appalachian community, transgender youth, and the Severely Mentally Ill population. TCN in turn works with local area police departments for CIT Workshops (Crisis Intervention Training) to help law enforcement better understand the special circumstances surrounding the mentally ill and those with substance abuse disorder.
